Tuesday tennis betting preview

Man, I feel like a man. But a good man.
I'm surprised that Alex Bogomolov is as high as 2.65 against Kukushkin in Moscow. Kukushkin is in very good form no doubt and he dismantled Kravchuk easy enough yesterday. But Bogomolov has a couple of eye catching victories of late and I think he may pull a surprise here.

Baghdatis may seem on the low side at 1.45 but I think it represents a decent bet against Donskoy.

Both Gulbis and Dimitrov are 1.33, with Chardy priced 3.5 v Gulbis and Copil 3.75 v Copil. Who knows with these two and whilst it is fraught with danger betting against both Dimitrov and Gulbis who have undoubted talent I'm personally going to go against them again, a tactic that has served me well in the past. Again, it's up to you whether you want to oppose fully or on some kind of handicap line, or even ignore this one!

In Austria I like the look of Dominic Thiem at 2.1 v Traver. It's his own patch and he may do well. Hewitt at 2.1 is also looking decent against Pospisil who's a little hit or miss sometimes.

In the women's side, only CSN interests me at 1.45 against the Russian Dushevina. I'd be willing to put double stakes on this one as my suggestion of the day.

Eerste Divisie betting preview

Two games that grab my attention today are Jong FC Twente and Jong PSV. Both these sides are 18th and 19th respectively in the table and I feel there is value and backing their away opponents in both.

Dordrecht are top of the league and are scoring two goals a game. They've won just two out of their last five but I reckon this could be a good thing. With trends you're looking to capitalise and pre-determine when the next trend will take shape and I believe they have had their little sticky patch.

Jong FC Twente have won once at home from five matches and are really having trouble scoring goals, with just 4 in those five games. At 2.34 I feel Dordrecht represent a decent punt.

Jong PSV are in similar shape to Twente but they've conceded more goals, 20 in 11 matches. Volendam are mid table but they are scoring at least and are on a run of two wins in a row. Volendam are 2.24 for the win and I think that there will be goals also, although the over 2.5 line is not generous at around 1.50.

Bet suggestions
Dordrecht, 2.34.
Volendam, 2.24.

Monday tennis betting preview

You're going to hear me roooaaarrr
Moscow is my first port of call today, and at 11.30am Sousa takes on Stakhovsky. Sousa is 1.74 and this represents huge value I believe. The boy has been on fire and his confidence levels must be through the roof even if he is playing a little away from home.

Kukushkin v Kravchuk is an interesting one. Kukushkin has lost just 2 matches out of his last 20, although he has played primarily Challenger events. Still, his confidence must be high. But Kravchuk can make life difficult at times for a lot of people. Kukushkin is as low as 1.25 and this is too short in my eyes. Can Kravchuk grab a set? Well possibly. This is a risky one because of Mikhail's great form but Kravchuk +1.5 sets at 1.95 would be my shout here.

Paire at 1.71 would normally resemble a decent prospect in the early rounds, but this is a guy who just blows so hot and cold (with the emphasis on cold) that he cannot be trusted. Their last meeting was two years ago which Paire lost, but for me this is all down to Paire's attitude. I honestly don't know why this guy bothers to show in some events. Can you bet against him though, personally I can't.

In Vienna Bemelmans plays Pospisil, and I'm obviously missing something here. The former is as low as 1.33 and the latter as high as 3.30. I cannot be having that. Pospisil has lost just two out of his last ten matches and I'm on him to cover a set, so he's a +1.5 sets at 1.83 in my choice.

Another stiff test for the regressing Watson
In the shower of shit match of the day Heather Watson takes on Wickmayer and they both stink to high heaven. Watson has won just 5 of her last 20 matches with 2 of those in Britain. She has won just 2 of her last 10 matches. Wickmayer is marginally better with 6 wins in her last 15 but only 3 wins of her last 10. It's unreal to think that Wickmayer beat Kvitova in Eastbourne 2-1 in June. I'd have to go with Wickmayer at 1.67 on this, although I wouldn't be surprised if they both lost.

Bet Suggestions
Sousa 1.74.
Kravchuk +1.5 sets, 1.95.
Pospisil +1.5 sets, 1.83.
Wickmayer, 1.67.

Today's betting preview

'You're shit mate'
Tennis first and the two big games of the day are Djokovic v Tsonga and Nadal v Del Potro. Tsonga has been impressive in this tournament and I feel he's one of those players that when he's fully switched on and amped in he can be a handful for anyone. Ladbrokes are offering the +4.5 which I like at evens and that's what I'm going for.

In the women's I'm staying away from both matches. Ivanovic is too heavy a favourite at 1.20 but on her day can be way too much. And how can anybody back CSN, even on a handicap, when she is fluctuating so wildly lately. I can see her giving Kerber a close match on the line but I can also see her getting between 6-2 6-1 or something. So anything can happen.

The bookies have Rafa as a lesser favourite. 1.36 for the outright but the -3.5 games handicap may be the go to here. Rafa it seems in this tournament has the ability to do some heavy damage in a set and this bet at 2.06 opens the door for the 6-4 straights win.

Real Madrid B have had their struggles this season and are bottom of the table, which is why I find it strange that Huelva, who are top, are 3.15. I'll be on the away team here.

Empoli have also done me proud over the years and they are  2.52 to win at Reggina. Empoli are doing well and Reggina are not, so I'm happy to take a straight win for the away side.

Preston play Crewe today which is fifth against 21. Crewe have leaked goals like there's no tomorrow and so 1.65 for the home side looks very good. 1.7 also says that Preston score 2 goals or more.

World Cup Qualifications Betting Preview

Lots to keep us entertained tonight so let's get started. Group B is very interesting with a host of sides ready to press the gamble button I reckon. Italy are top and have qualified already so I would question whether or not their minds will be fully on the job. Club managers will have gotten into the players' ears and the players themselves will know that these last fixtures are just lip service.

Saying all that Denmark at home have won only two of their last 12 matches. In short, this group is a complete mess with all sorts of connotations. The Czech's will be brought back into the equation should they beat Malta and if Bulgaria beat Armenia that complicates things further. It's hugely messy to call.

My gut would say that Denmark would have to take a punt here and go for the win. If that happens then goals will almost certainly come into play. Over 2.5 goals is 2.36, and I'm on that position. I also think that Bulgaria will win against Armenia at 2.38 and that the Czech game will go over 2.5 goals, 1.73.

I touched on Croatia v Belgium on Twitter and I think that BTTS Yes (2.06) has a chance of landing. Croatia haven't had a BTTS Yes land in six consecutive matches and the trend has to end sometime. The match could be quite open if both teams have a dash at it.

Kazakstan are 2.1 to beat the Faroe Islands and I'll take that. I cannot find a card market for Ukraine v Poland but I'm pretty sure there were a spate of yellow cards last time out which may be worth considering again here.

Switzerland will want to smash Albania and I reckon they will win at 1.83. Turkey 2 goals or more is 1.63 and that looks good too. Also over 2.5 goals here is 2.02. Netherlands should cover the +1.5 handicap (2.03) against Hungary at home I reckon as the game is likely to become open if the Dutch take a lead and Hungary will have to chase as the pack in the group will be on their heels.

I also fancy Iceland to cover the -1.5 at 2.08 and over 2.5 goals at 2.02 v Cyprus who have been shite all campaign. Sweden v Austria, well who knows? Over 2.5 goals is 1.91 and I'll take that. Macedonia DNB 2.14 would also be another selection. The Welsh I don't think will be up for it in a failed campaign and Coleman is now a desperate man.

In the English game I think England will do a job and no more. Macedonia are +1.5 on the AH 2.02 and I'll be suggesting that.

Thursday tennis previews

Anyway looking at tomorrow and I'm fancying Del Potro 1.50, Nishikori 2.5, Mayer +1.5 sets 2.1, Fognini +6.5 2.0 and Berlocq +6.5 2.0. There's a fag paper between Wawrinka and Raonic although I'd be looking at over 2.5 sets at 2.34.

Don't know much about a few of the ladies in Linz, but Knapp at 2.10 looks decent. I'd also be backing Petkovic in the women's match of the day which is around 3.30pm at 1.91 v Sloane. In Osaka, Keys 1.9, Doi 2.25, And Zheng 1.62 would be my other selections. Flipkens is also overpriced v Navarro considering the latter can't hit the court at the moment, so I'll be on Flipper at 2.04.

God judges David Cameron

Derek Campbell 47 game ban in ice hockey

Jonny Grossmark at it again. He's a stickler for accuracy.

I'm OUTRAGED....following on from Obama I want THESE team names banned!!

Err, why you laughing for son?
Well I am outraged! Totally and well and truly outraged!!

I can't believe it's taken this long for the beloved President of the USA to take some decisive action over sports team names and I'm aghast that our government in the UK aren't doing something similar. This is so important that he's placed the US on shut down specifically to solve the problem of 'Who the fuck is the racist?'.

The Washington Redskins name is of course, racist. Any multi-cultural open minded person can see this LOL, so I am glad that they are addressing the issue. But there are other sporting names that 'I' consider to be offensive and 'I' am outraged that they exist.

Firstly, I want Liverpool changed. A few years ago my grand mother died of liver failure, near a pool on a Saga resort holiday. Since then, every time I hear the name Liverpool, I am reminded of her ancient face. It wouldn't be so bad, but the bastard cut me out of her will and I get all strokey at the mere mention of this team name. It affects me and the outrage I feel and offence it causes surely means that they need to change their name to stop offending me.

Secondly, the people of Manchester who support City must be outraged that their neighbours are considered 'united' and that City must be in some kind of disarray. This is totally unacceptable in our modern society where teams should appear to be equal to prospective buyers and fans alike.

The next name I want changed is Scunthorpe. I needn't go any further.

Miami is a lovely place, and thanks to Will Smith we know that girls like taking their clothes off and (ahem) showing the goods. However, to say that the basketball side is on 'Heat' all the time is preposterous. Are these some kind of lecherous sexual predators that want to impregnate every Miami girl they come across? I think not.

Green Bay Packers I want changed...because of the 'fudge' element and that straight people will get offended.

I want the Young Boys of Bern to be changed. no young boy should feel compelled at their age to play for a team that exclusively sells them as young, fit, virile boys.

Arsenal (Arse), Norwich Canaries (cruelty to animals), and Genk (that sounds like Spunk and is therefore a sexual reference). Why are New England more 'patriotic' than anyone else? I know the crime rate in Pittsburg is through the roof but come on, you're labelling them thieves! And everyone knows that San Francisco should be called 69ers.

In short I want an entire investigation into everything to do with sports names and any name that causes offence/distress/outrage I want scrapped and re-branded so that nobody in the entire world is upset.

Thank you.
