Nadine Dorries is right and stunningly candid in what she says here. But does she REALLY believe this, or more spin?
@NadineDorriesMP shows she's InTouch with real people's lives and how the Tories need to win back C2's http://t.co/CvQhH1qPd0 -- Matt Davies (@matt_davies1992)
Nadine Dorries MP: My six point plan to win back the trust of C2 voters
In 1997, C2s thought things were going to get better. They hummed the tune and waited. They got worse. Their dizzyingly high expectations were dashed on the rocks of deceit. In 2009, the MP expenses crisis took a grip and diminished the public view of all politicians and political parties.
There is now a new kid on the block untainted by a history of non-delivery, its name is UKIP and its leader speaks in the language of the C2. Funnily enough, he’s speaking very much in the language of the Tory party of old and, unless I am very mistaken, seems to articulating the policies the Conservative party abandoned in our badly thought out and implemented programme of crass ‘we’re all hip now, yah, really’ modernisation.
How to attract the C2 voter isn’t brain surgery. It involves adopting the policies that provide people with aspiration, security and keeping more of what they earn in their pockets. However, to recognise those policies, one needs to understand and know the C2 voter.
So, here’s my list of what we need to promise C2 to win them back;

I was delighted to be asked to speak at the ConservativeHome conference on Saturday and to give my opinion on how I think the party can reach out to blue collar workers.
I don’t actually like the term ‘blue collar’ very much as, by implication, it excludes women and so from here on in I will use the socio economic terminology of C2s. It wasn’t an easy talk to give as all the way through I was very much aware that the C2s are no longer going to listen to a thing we say. They don’t trust any of the three main parties very much, anymore.
Back in the day, when I grew up on my Liverpool council estate every member of Liverpool City council was Conservative. The city had eight Conservative MPs. The Conservative Party had a brand. It was known universally as the party of the family. C2s knew who and what they were voting for.
The C2 family today lives a tough life. It will only take a minute or two of talking to a C2 before money crops up in the conversation. They know the price of everything; they have to. They shop at Aldi for orange squash, washing powder, detergents, dog food, bread, biscuits and crisps and they go to Tesco for value fishcakes, mince, sausages and chicken. They buy vegetables on the market and only have fish if it is in the reduced aisle.
A C2 mum knows if there is enough spare for the chippy on a Friday night and she would love to have enough to go to JBB Sports for the kid’s trainers rather than the market. They know the price of milk.

To those who are in work, job security is king. So when, in
the Eastleigh by-election, Nigel Farage spoke about the UKIP immigration policy
as being based on the Australian system, i.e. you are only allowed in if
approved and have a skill we are missing and have a job offer to go to, C2s
liked that. That policy meant job security. It meant no deluge of Eastern
Europeans working for less than the minimum wage and distorting the job market.
They lapped it up and they voted for it.
In 1997, C2s thought things were going to get better. They hummed the tune and waited. They got worse. Their dizzyingly high expectations were dashed on the rocks of deceit. In 2009, the MP expenses crisis took a grip and diminished the public view of all politicians and political parties.

So, here’s my list of what we need to promise C2 to win them back;
- Deliver a referendum on Europe right now based on the almost certainty that the country will vote no and we get to keep the 53 million per day we send as pocket money to a sick European project.
- Adopt an Australian style immigration system.
- Deliver a radical, across the board tax-cutting agenda that puts money back in people’s wage packets. If people keep more of what they earn they can spend more and the revenue take increases via other means than PAYE. If people have it, they spend it. Especially the C2s who need to spend so much more than most to elevate their position.
- Commit to ignore, from today onwards, the equalities legislation which is forcing councils to allocate Gypsy and Traveller sites across the country when Ireland, also part of the EU, has a zero tolerance policy in its two finger salute to the EU.
- Abandon HS2 and redirect the money to house building and infrastructure projects that do not rip up the green-belt but focus on urban regeneration where most people live and work and deserve to have their environment enhanced.
- Abandon all commitment to wind farms and a green energy
agenda. Shoot the huskies (joke!).

Amy Rutland (rutters101) Labour campaigner planted in #bbcqt as the disgraceful BBC show appalling bias once again
How low can a corporation go? All the way low and lower is the answer. The BBC have for an eternity been a bias deceitful and corrupt institution and is fast showing its age as a broadcaster which is a relic from a bygone era.
Last night UKIP candidate Diane James appeared on Question Time and even before the show began I raised concerns about 'what would go down?'. I expected the normal gang leaders to turn on the most vulnerable and I expected Dimbleby to fan the flames. You see, Diane James and UKIP are threatening to break up the cushy little status quo that exists and will continue to exist unless the three mains political parties are ousted and the BBC dismantled and broken up.
What I didn't expect was there to be the most blatantly obvious attempt to discredit Diane James with a plant in the audience. The plant, it has been confirmed to the shame of 'auntie' is Labour campaigner Amy Rutland (@rutters101). Last night Amy Rutland had a pro Labour backdrop on her Twitter page, tweets were unlocked and her main picture was of her campaigning with Labour crests emblazoned to high heaven. Today, it is a more solemn seaside picture and tweets have been locked whilst she poses with what appears to be a disabled person. Lovely touch isn't it?
This is what @rutters101 had to say last night in case anybody is unawares!
That this silly girl had the audacity to label Diane James 'disgusting' is beyond belief. Shame on her. She wanted her five minutes of fame and boy was she going to use every last second. But it looks like her little plan and the BBC's complicity in it is being unravelled. In this day of modern breaking news and social networking corruption and deceit is being throttled. It took a nano-second for people to think 'what's wrong with this picture' when an apparently opinionated lady started speaking in the BBC Question Time audience. But from the moment she opened her mouth something didn't fit. And all was to be revealed some time after.
Shame on her? Obviously. But the bigger proportion of the blame goes on the now disgraceful and incompetent BBC who I and many now loathe dishing out our monthly income too. The corporation needs to be dismantled. Completely. Enough is enough. Their agenda to keep their noses in the trough has gone on for too long and it's time they were sent packing.

Windows 8 Pro price slashed to £45
1 of 4
By Nicole Kobie
Posted on 4 Mar 2013 at 11:35
An upgrade from a previous version of Windows to Windows 8 Pro had previously cost £190 inc VAT, but is now being advertised for £45.
Oddly, that means it's cheaper than the standard Windows 8, which is £99, and also cheaper than an upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8 Pro, which remains at £99.
Windows 8 Pro had previously been available for an introductory discount price, but that ended 31 January.
The original prices remain on the US store, with Windows 8 at $120 and Windows 8 Pro at $200.
Even more curiously, and as first spotted by PC Pro reader Ip_stephenmollfb in the comments below, Microsoft is allowing users to upgrade from beta versions of Windows 8. The small print on the site reads: "To install Windows 8 Pro, customers must be running Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 Consumer Preview, or Windows 8 Release Preview."
We checked with Microsoft's online sales support, and it confirmed that users of the free beta versions would qualify for the £45 upgrade, as you can see below:
Anyone planning to take advantage of an upgrade from Windows 8 Consumer Preview or Release Preview should bear in mind that all applications and data installed in the beta versions will be wiped during the upgrade process, making it effectively a clean install.
We've asked Microsoft for an explanation for the price cut, but have yet to hear back with a response.

Weekly round up
A very frustrating week but one in which ultimately wasn't as bad as it looked at the start. For starters I have introuced Cineworld, Marston's and Moneysupermarket so no wonder the profit took a hit. Although profit now stands much lower than two weeks ago at £232, bear in mind the introduction of a lot of spreads and the fact that one or two have stopped out. Our equity is a respectable £776.
I felt that all of last week there was still bearish pressure. For every turn of bullish sentiment there was still the feeling of that being quickly combated. Aberdeen Asset Management showed how robust it is though repelling any negativity and still giving us £184 profit. This may be too early to predict but I really do feel that all my positions, barring one or two obvious ones like Talvivaar, are now fully loaded to go long. Premier Oil needs to shape up and basically all of the new boys. There will also be a fresh look at some of the small profit companies. They are making profit but we're talking minimal change from October.
So, with all things crossed, next week could be a much better indication of where we are in real terms. Another slide next week could see the selections almost go into free fall as a lot of stops will be near enough hit. It's something I wanted to guard against from past experience, although in Eurasian's case, I was glad that stopped out and gave me a profit of around £50.
